What necklace length should I buy?

Shorter lengths sit at the base of the throat and work with open necklines, mid lengths fall at the collarbone and suit most everyday wear, and longer lengths sit lower and layer well over sweaters. If you are buying a gift, the safest approach is a mid length, and we can adjust later.

Can a necklace be shortened or lengthened?

Usually yes. We shorten chains, add extenders, and replace clasps in house at our Troy location, so a necklace that is not quite right can almost always be corrected.

How do I layer necklaces without tangling?

Leave a clear gap between lengths, usually two inches or more, and vary the chain weights so they do not sit against each other. Bring in a piece you already own and we will build a layering set around it.

How should pearls be cared for?

Pearls are softer than gemstones and react to perfume, hairspray, and lotion, so put them on last and wipe them with a soft cloth after wearing. Strands worn often should be restrung periodically, which we handle in house.

Do you repair broken chains?

Yes. Chain solder, clasp replacement, and pendant bail repair are all done in house, including on pieces not purchased from us.
