What is an engagement ring setting?

A setting is the ring itself without the center diamond, sometimes called a semi-mount. It includes the band, the head that will hold the center stone, and any accent diamonds. You choose the center stone separately.

Why buy the setting and the diamond separately?

It gives you control over where your budget goes. Some couples prioritize a larger center stone in a simpler setting, others want intricate metalwork with a more modest diamond. Buying them separately lets you make that call rather than accepting someone else's split.

Can I use a diamond I already own?

In most cases yes, including a stone from a family ring. Bring it in and we will evaluate the diamond and tell you which settings it will work with.

How long does it take to set the stone?

It depends on the setting and whether it needs to be ordered. Some can be completed quickly, others take several weeks. Tell us your timeline when you come in and we will be straight with you about what is realistic.

Do settings come with a matching wedding band?

Most designer settings have a coordinating band designed to sit flush against the engagement ring. We can show you the matching band at the same time so you know how the pair will look together.
