DIAMOND CARAT WEIGHT
Carat is the standard measure of a diamond’s weight. There are 100 points to a carat (like pennies to a dollar). Thus a one-half carat diamond is sometimes said to be a 50-point diamond and is listed as .50 carat. A one-quarter carat diamond is sometimes said to be a 25-point diamond and is listed as .25 carat.
